Isopan for social housing: in Spain with RSC of Castellón
Barcelona – The Mesa de Responsabilidad Social Corporativa in Castellón de la Plana, Catalonia, has made a proposal to implement housing redevelopment projects for the less fortunate Spanish citizens. In order to agree on the best solutions for these projects, the social organisations part of RSC have set up a working group comprising Fundación Secretariado Gitano, UBE, Fremap, Refinería BP, Bricomart, Afanías, Cáritas, Asociación Síndrome de Down, Patim, Reinventhadas, Aspas, Fundación Gobalis and UJI.
The social activities of RSC “are aimed at improving the habitat of those who have limited financial resources – said Antonio García, director of Bricomart Castellón – by giving these people access to a better quality of life.” The main activities carried out by the working group include roof reclamation and waterproofing and the removal of architectural barriers for people with disabilities, also through donations and with the support of companies specialising in construction, such as Isopan Ibérica, a Spanish company of the Isopan Group, Leroy Merlin and Bricomart.
Resistant and sustainable materials had to be used for the roofs, which is why Isocop - the sandwich panel for insulating roofs by Isopan - was chosen, since it is ideal for industrial, commercial, agricultural-zootechnical and residential buildings. Versatility of use, load bearing capacity and ease of installation make Isocop a reliable solution for any kind of project, from new constructions to roof refurbishments.
